Summary: My 11+ Tutor apps collect minimal anonymous usage analytics to improve the apps. The child app stores progress locally on device. When paired with Progress Monitor, practice data is securely shared via Apple's CloudKit. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy covers both "My 11+ Tutor" (the learning app for children) and "My 11+ Tutor - Progress Monitor" (the companion app for parents and tutors). We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of children who use our apps.
My 11+ Tutor (Child App)
The child app is designed for children aged 9-11 preparing for 11+ entrance exams.
- No account required - Children can use the app immediately
- Local storage - Progress is stored on the device
- Works offline - All 17,000+ questions are bundled
- Optional sharing - Parents can optionally link via Progress Monitor
My 11+ Tutor - Progress Monitor (Parent/Tutor App)
The companion app allows parents and tutors to monitor children's progress.
- Secure pairing - Links to child app via 6-digit code
- CloudKit sync - Data stored in Apple's secure iCloud infrastructure
- Subscription-based - Premium features require subscription
- No third-party data sharing - Your data stays with Apple and us
What Data We Collect
Child App (My 11+ Tutor)
Stored locally on device only:
- Practice progress (questions answered, correct/incorrect)
- Scores and accuracy by subject
- Daily streaks and achievements
- Selected target schools
- App settings and preferences
This data never leaves the device unless you choose to pair with Progress Monitor.
Progress Monitor (Parent/Tutor App)
Stored in CloudKit (Apple's iCloud):
- Child's display name (set by parent, not real name required)
- Practice session data synced from paired child apps
- Performance statistics and trends
- Pairing codes and connection status
Stored locally:
- Subscription status
- App preferences
Anonymous Analytics (Both Apps)
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the apps are used. This helps us improve features and fix issues. Analytics data is:
- Anonymous - We cannot identify you personally
- Aggregated - We only see overall patterns
- Non-tracking - We do not track you across apps or websites
Examples of analytics we collect:
- Which features are most popular
- General usage patterns (session length, screens visited)
- App performance metrics and crash reports
- Device type and iOS version (for compatibility)
What We Do NOT Collect
- Real names, email addresses, or contact information
- Location data
- Photos, files, or camera/microphone access
- Browsing history or data from other apps
- Any information that could directly identify a child
Data Sharing Between Apps
When you pair the child app with Progress Monitor:
- Parent generates a 6-digit pairing code in Progress Monitor
- Child/parent enters the code in the child app's Parent Mode
- A secure connection is established via CloudKit
- Practice session data is synced to the parent's Progress Monitor
Data shared includes:
- Questions answered (by subject and type)
- Correct/incorrect answers and accuracy rates
- Time spent practicing
- Daily streak information
Data NOT shared:
- Actual question content or answers
- Device information
- Any personal identifiers
CloudKit and iCloud
Progress Monitor uses Apple's CloudKit to sync data between apps. This means:
- Data is stored on Apple's secure iCloud servers
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Access is controlled by your Apple ID
- We cannot access your iCloud credentials

Children's Privacy (COPPA & UK GDPR)
My 11+ Tutor is designed for children aged 9-11. We take children's privacy seriously:
- The child app works without any account or personal information
- No personal data is collected from children
- Pairing with Progress Monitor is initiated by parents
- Only anonymous, aggregated analytics are collected
- Children cannot make purchases or access external content
Parents can:
- Disconnect pairing at any time
- Delete all synced data by disconnecting and resetting
- Contact us to request data deletion
Subscription Data (Progress Monitor)
When you subscribe to Progress Monitor:
- Payments are processed by Apple - we never see payment details
- Apple provides us with a transaction receipt (no personal payment info)
- Subscription status is stored locally to enable premium features

We use the following third-party services:
We do not use any advertising services or sell data to third parties.
Data Retention
- Local data: Retained until you delete the app or reset progress
- CloudKit data: Retained while your subscription is active, then up to 90 days after cancellation
- Analytics data: Retained for up to 14 months (Firebase standard retention)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data
- Disconnect: Remove pairing between apps at any time
- Opt-out: Use apps offline to avoid analytics collection

Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures:
- CloudKit data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Pairing codes expire after use
- No sensitive data is stored on our servers
